Nestled at the base of the majestic Uluguru Mountains, this full-day festival combines outdoor adventure, local culture, and breathtaking natural scenery. Perfect for hikers, nature lovers, and adventure seekers, the event offers guided mountain treks, birdwatching tours, and a taste of Morogoro’s vibrant local life. The festival ends with a lively evening featuring traditional dances, live music, and food prepared by local chefs.

Schedule:

  • 6:30 AM: Event registration and welcome breakfast (light snacks, fresh fruits, and Tanzanian coffee).
  • 7:30 AM: Guided hikes begin:
    • Option 1: Moderate hike to Morning Side for panoramic views of Morogoro town (3 hours).
    • Option 2: Full-day trek to the Uluguru peak with waterfall stops (7 hours).
  • 8:00 AM: Nature walk and birdwatching tour with local guides.
  • 12:30 PM: Lunch break at the festival grounds featuring local dishes such as wali wa nazi (coconut rice), grilled tilapia, and fresh sugarcane juice.
  • 2:00 PM: Cultural village tour: Meet local farmers, learn about sustainable agriculture, and watch traditional basket-weaving demonstrations.
  • 4:00 PM: Sunset yoga session overlooking the mountains.

Can children come to events?
Unless otherwise stated, children are always welcome, but please be aware that most of our events are aimed at an adult audience. Children must be supervised at all times.
Is there seating at events?
Yes, we always provide a variety of seating for all ticketholders unless it’s a dance event or art show opening. One of our crew will always be on hand to assist you in finding a seat if you need one.
Where can I park?
There is a wide choice of places to park, however most are not free so please do check before you come on the Southampton City Council website. We have no onsite parking.
Are you near public transport?
Very. There is a bus stop a few doors up and the train station is about 7 minutes gentle walk away.
Is it safe to come at night?
To our knowledge, none of our customers has had any bad experience, however we do recommend that if you are worried you stick to the roads rather than walk through the parks. The roads are well-lit and generally there are a lot of people about at night.
Can I come on my own?
YES! Many of our customers come alone to events, it’s never a problem and you will be welcomed warmly.
